He performed his neurosurgical residency at the Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem. Dr. Ashkenazi also completed a two-year spine surgery fellowship at Montefiore Hospital in New York. Prior to co-founding the Israel Spine Center, he served as a senior surgeon in the department of neurosurgery at the Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem. Dr. Ashkenazi has presented or published or presented over 50 scientific articles. Dr. Ashkenazi is also an inventor of various surgical instruments and surgical techniques. Dr. Ashkenazi has extensive experience with the TOPS System and many other solutions for lumbar and cervical spine diseases.
